Ensure the property looks immaculate when photographed and for viewings

Tenants need to be able to see themselves living in this home, and because typically they won’t be able to make huge changes to the property, it’s key that they see it in a neat and tidy state.

 

All kitchen and bathroom surfaces should be cleared. Washing up and washing equipment, kitchen towels, oven mittens, toothbrushes, shampoos etc. should be placed out of sight.

 

Remove from view: shoes, coats, laundry, carrier bags, toys, magazines, catalogues, tissue boxes etc.

 

Hide tangled cables and if necessary disconnect appliances except lamps. Make sure all light bulbs work, particularly in ceiling spotlights, chandeliers and above the cooker.

 

Choose neutral/light coloured bed linen and make sure it is not creased.

 

Don’t forget outside – mow the lawn, tidy shrubs etc.
