Meet the Team: Ollie Cruikshank, Head of Office

Ollie Cruikshank is the head of office at the Canary Wharf branch. Growing up with parents that owned an estate agents in Blackheath it was clear that property was something that would form a huge part of his career.

I am responsible for…

Ensuring high standards are kept through the day to day running of both the sales and lettings department of our Canary Wharf office. This can range from ongoing training to mentoring the more experienced, through to making sure everyone comes and goes with a smile on their face!

A head of office is…

A person that can be the first port of call and the last., I like to ensure that the team are carrying out their jobs to their best ability while guaranteeing the job they are doing is within Keatons’ expectations. I carry out all of the valuations and oversee all transactions to ensure we are putting the client first at all times.

I got my job…

I worked in Blackheath in South London for seven years running the family estate agents, when my parents decided to retire I felt that I wanted a fresh start and Keatons were definitely a company that could offer that for me. I started off as a senior consultant almost two years ago just before we officially opened the Canary Wharf office -which lead into overseeing both sales and lettings and becoming the Head of office!

The worst part of my job…

Not being able to say no! Whether it is 7am or 7pm I always want to be able to help the staff and the clients. I often find myself replying to clients past midnight if they have a question that needs answering!

The best part of my job…

Either getting to meet new people when out valuing properties or the excited faces of tenants and buyers when they come to collect their new keys! Also seeing the trainee consultants developing within their role is always great to see!

My most memorable day…

The day the sales team were invited to a new development in Stratford, we were taken on to the construction site and up to the 38th floor, via the trade lift which is located on the outside of the building itself! The building was still mid construction and had no walls so the view over London was breath taking!

After work I enjoy…

Trying my hand at a bit of cooking, although I have a tendency to eat most of it before plating it up! I am a keen, but not great, golfer and I tend to try and play most weekends if the weather allows it.
